Last week @DJJones looked at the feasibility of adding texting to BrainDrive.
The idea here is to make it as easy as possible for non technical people to interact with their BrainDrive on the go. And since everyone knows how to text, we thought we would start there.
However after looking into this further unfortunately there is too much friction to make this easy for a non technical person running BrainDrive locally to get setup including setting up the tunnel and also going through an organizational approval process in Twilio.
With this in mind we decided to put this project on hold for now and circle back to this as part of our managed hosting launch which makes this much easier.
If you are interested in adding texting to your local setup in the meantime however and willing to jump through a couple of hoops let us know and we’ll get you setup.
