# Your Agent: changes needed for Experts (draft)

**Purpose.** What the accepted Your Agent spec (Docs, `docs/pages/your-agent/your-agent-spec.md`, accepted 2026-10-15, PR #158) needs so that it fits the Experts definitions and rules draft (2026-11-06) and the Experts and skills spec v0.12. Answers Q116 as a recommendation for Dave J.

## Proposed changes

1. **Your Agent looks after Your Memory.** Add to What We're Building: "Your Agent is the steward of Your Memory: it brokers and secures access to it. It reads and writes across all of it on the owner's behalf, and Experts get anything outside their own page through it. Your Agent is not a page." (Definitions draft.)
2. **Brokering between pages (new story YA-10).** An Expert gets anything from outside its own page only through Your Agent. Before anything leaves a page, BrainDrive's code checks the grants file (Experts spec AC-7.7). Your Agent cannot grant access on its own judgment, and no text it reads can authorize anything (AC-7.8).
3. **Only what's relevant (extends YA-6).** When an Expert is allowed something, Your Agent gives only what's relevant, trimmed, with where it came from, for example "about $20,000 in available savings", not the whole Finance page. This is an AI judgment, not a security boundary; the grants file check is the boundary.
4. **The only writer of shared Memory (extends Where Your Agent Writes).** No Expert writes shared Memory directly. For Experts set to Yes or Ask me each time, Your Agent carries settled facts back as summaries (Memory Architecture M-10, M-11). Nothing comes back from a page whose Expert is set to Only this page (Experts spec AC-7.4, AC-7.11).
5. **Only this page limits the Expert, not the owner.** The owner can still talk about that page with Your Agent, and Your Agent can still route a journal note into it (GJ-1). It just never carries anything from that page into shared Memory or to another Expert.
6. **One model.** The owner always talks to Your Agent's model. On a page, it works from that page's Expert's files (V1 Experts have no model of their own).
7. **New Project goes.** The central-job list ("Finance, Fitness, Career, Relationships, New Project, or a custom page") becomes "... or a page the owner created with New page", matching the Interface change list I10.

## Q116: what Your Agent can pass between pages on Dec 15 (recommendation, for Dave J)

Dave J said on the 2026-11-05 call that Your Agent won't be built out to the full version by Dec 15. Recommendation:

- The five shipped Experts, and Experts the owner creates, keep the cross-page behavior the accepted Page Spec already describes (AC-25). Nothing new is needed from Your Agent for that.
- Installed Experts get two choices on Dec 15, Yes or Only this page.
- "Ask me each time" and the per-request grant card (Allow once, Always allow, Don't allow) come after Dec 15.

This keeps access depending on where an Expert came from, with almost no new build. It changes the agreed install question from three choices to two for Dec 15, so it needs Dave J's agreement.

## Next, when the work resumes

Walk these items with Dave W one at a time, then write the Your Agent spec delta, have Codex review it, and propose through Docs with the other Experts changes.
