Hi All,
@DJJones and I discussed how we are thinking about logging in this week’s livestream. The discussion starts around minute 22 for anyone who wants to hear the convo and here is a summary.
In order to support BrainDrive Owners when they run into issues, we need to be able to see the logs of what was happening. And because every BrainDrive Owner’s system has the potential to be completely different from someone else’s, we also need to see the setup.
With a normal Big Tech style SaaS system, this is easy. The company has full ownership and control over the system and can see everything. You are a user, they are the owner.
With BrainDrive you are the owner, and often times running on your local computer or hosting environment of your choice. The BrainDrive core dev team has no access to your system, and this is by design. You have complete freedom, ownership and control over your system.
So we are setting up logging in a manner where the BrainDrive Owner can easily generate a log, and share it with us if they choose to do so in order for us to support in resolving any issues.
This is an important step in allowing us to provide support without sacrificing your freedom, ownership, control, and privacy.
Questions, comments, concerns, and ideas around this welcome as always. Just hit the reply button.
Thanks,
Dave W.
